CRILLY COMPANIES was established in 1990 to practice interior
design and with the purpose of developing opportunities to create, innovate and
provide resources for a variety of clients and projects. We have developed excellent client-designer
relationships both in the residential and commercial markets and have a roster
of talented designers and tradespersons to execute our designs and visual ideas.
As principal, Maureen
Crilly brings the credentials of a BFA-California College of Arts in Interior Design
and a BS-University of Kansas in Education.
Her initial experience was as a commercial interior designer for the
architectural firm of HOK in San Francisco and New York. Commercial projects have varied from Riyadh
International Airport, to Citibank and Caltex Petroleum Headquarters. As a design manager for Merrill Lynch
Facilities Group, the focus of her work included design and facilities
management at World Financial Center, New York.
Residential design has
remained the central focus of CRILLY
COMPANIES. Residential interiors
blend the client and designer’s personality while creating an artful mix. Both traditional and contemporary styles have
been expressed in the interior design of the Elm Court Estate, Ibstone House in
England, the Nassimi, Sen Sharma, Parlato and Rackson residences.
Each project remains
personal and unique. The Parlato
residence gave our firm the opportunity to be published in Architectural Digest
in August 1994. This traditional Queen
Anne home became a palette for a modern design scheme which interpreted the
client’s taste and desires in the most creative and aesthetic manner. This publicity led to the successful
participation in the St. James Deepwells, ASID/Ansonia and American French Showhouses.
The Rackson classical townhouse
has been a five-year project for a modern, young family and encompasses a
unique, worldly blend of historical French, Art Deco and Moroccan-inspired
interiors.
Extensive training in the
history of design has inspired us to work with a broad range of styles from
modern to French periods. An interest in
the profession of interior design remains renewed through Maureen's teaching
at the School of Visual Arts and at the
Fashion Institute of Technology. Her students are an expression of her commitment to the design community and society
at large.
